Acer Aspire One D260 Android Netbook Review

Acer introduces its a new 10.1-inch Aspire One D260 netbook which has dual-boot capability with Android and Windows, likely XP. An update to the Aspire One D250. At the same time, Acer revealed a netbook running on Chrome OS is also due in the summer of this year.

The netbook is powered by an Intel Atom CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB of HDD. Aspire One D260 features a 0.3-megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a card reader and include 3G broadband support.

Asus Eee PC 1001P Netbook Review

Asus released its new 10-inch Eee PC 1001P netbook powered by an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor, 160GB/250GB HDD, 1GB RAM, Intel GMA 3150 graphics card and LCD display at 1024 x 600. The netbook weights only 1.1kg. Asus Eee PC 1001P comes equipped with 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity, a 6 cell battery pack (48Whr battery) and runs on Windows XP Home Edition OS.

LG X130 Netbook Review

LG released its new 10.1-inch X130 netbook powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and 160GB of storage. The netbook  comes equipped with LED-backlight display (1024 x 600), WiFi, Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth+EDR, a 9-cell battery pack, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. for accessing the Splashtop-based Smart-On OS the LG X130 has a dedicated key. The netbook is available in 3 colors.

Unfortunately this model does not support 3G / HSPA options as most of the previous models support it.

LG X130 runs on Windows XP Home OS.

HP Mini 311 Netbook Review

HP introduces us its 11.6″ Mini 311 netbook which sports some very nice features. The netbook is powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor, a 160GB SATA Drive, 1GB of RAM, NVIDIA Ion LE graphics and a 6-cell battery.

The netbook is supposed to be equipped with 5-in-1 Memory Card Reader, 802.11b/g Wireless LAN, Webcam and Integrated Microphone, 92% sized keyboard and will run on XP Service Pack 3 or maybe Windows 7.

After releasing AMD-based X-Slim X600 and X-Slim X610, MSI company is making the MSI Wind U200 with an AMD processor and vill call it the U210. The MSI Wind U210-002 is powered by an Athlon Neo MV-40 1.6GHz processor with 1GB memory, 160GB HDD and runs on Windows XP Home OS. Another laptop of this series, the Wind U210-010, comes with 2GB memory, 250GB HDD and runs on and Vista Home Premium OS. The prices are intended to be starting from €399 for U210-002 and €449 for U210-010.

Sony Laptops can't use Windows 7's XP

Bad news for VAIO owners out there hoping to use Windows 7′s XP mode or run any other hardcore virtual machine applications — Sony disables the required hardware virtualization features of its laptops for “security reasons.” That means XP Mode won’t work on any VAIOs, but there’s hope yet: Sony’s Xavier Lauwaert says that the company will re-enable VT on “select models.” We’ll see what that means going forward — XP Mode is a niche feature, but it’s still pretty lame for Sony to be intentionally disabling hardware features.

Newton Peripherals announced the MoGo Mouse for Netbooks. This small mouse offers up just a 0.5 oz weight and 0.2-inch thickness.

This new mouse is also wireless and sports Bluetooth 2.0 and an accompanying Bluetooth USB adapter for ease of use when on the go. A special holster comes with it that can attach to the outside of your netbook for holding the mouse when not in use. Read more…

The tablet PC is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor with an Intel 945GSE chipset, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB SATA 2.5-inch HDD, and Microsoft Windows XP Home OS. Other features include Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n, WiFi, and a 1.3MP webcam.
